La loi du 7 mai 1999 instituant le Code des sociétés règle en ses articles 24 et 25 l'entrée en vigueur de la loi et les dispositions transitoires.
La loi entre en vigueur à la date prévue par le Roi et au plus tard 18 mois après sa publication au Moniteur belge, soit le 6 février 2001 au plus tard.
Attention
Au niveau du droit transitoire, l'article 24 prévoit que les sociétés existantes sont tenues d'adapter leurs statuts au Code des sociétés dans les 3 ans après l'entrée en vigueur.
Aussi longtemps que les statuts ne sont pas adaptés, toute clause statutaire renvoyant à des textes abrogés par le Code ou dont la numérotation a été modifiée par le Code sera lue comme se rapportant au nouveau numéro de ces textes. Il est fait usage de la table de concordance figurant en annexe du Code.
